A commitment to Santa Clara

Be a part of What’s Possible!
Creating a Thriving Santa Clara for All
We have made significant progress in the previous four years, prioritizing issues with Santa Claran’s quality of life.
Safe Neighborhoods
Invested into our public safety from our police to firefighters.
Ended Costly Litigation
Put an end to expensive legal disputes such as the 49ers litigation and the California Voting Rights Lawsuit. By taking this action, Santa Clara has avoided paying countless dollars to attorneys. Rather, money is returned to our city.
Downtown Precise Plan
Fifty years ago, downtown was demolished. I supported the exact proposal to reconstruct downtown using a form base code in 2023. After many generations of waiting, this was the first step toward bringing a new downtown to life.
Reduced deficits and increased revenues
Since my election in 2020, we have almost completely erased the $27 million deficit. Measure H’s passage and stadium events brought in additional revenue for the general fund.
Parks, Pools Streets and Community
We have invested a significant amount of financial resources in the neighborhoods, repairing roads, updating parks, and re-opening the International Swim Center with an eye on the long term. Included were the creation of the Homeless Task-Force committee, full funding of a replacement lawn bowl clubhouse, and the restoration of library hours. To help with the city’s ongoing infrastructure requirements, we put an infrastructure bond measure on the ballot for 2024.
Stadium Operations
Improved stadium operations in the last four years by relaxing the curfew up to 5 times a year which has resulted in revenue to our city and local economy. The City of Santa Clara also landed world events like the 2026 World Cup and Super Bowl 60.
